Cordele Inland Port®  Operations
The Cordele Inland Port® is a public-private partnership of the Crisp-Cordele Industrial Development Authority and our fixed base operator that provides premier logistical solutions increasing the competitive options for intermodal customers and businesses in the South Georgia, Alabama and Florida areas.   The Crisp-Cordele Industrial Development Authority is committed to serving these customers through its development and management of the Cordele Inland Port℠ site.

The Cordele Inland Port ®  was designed to move national and international shipments more efficiently and effectively to and from the Georgia Ports Authority’s Garden City Terminal in Savannah for distribution alleviating truck congestion at the Savannah Port.   Cargo is transferred directly from an ocean vessel at the Port of Savannah to railcars and then transported to Cordele via rail, away from the congested port itself.  It gives a direct 200-mile route to and from the Port of Savannah.  The Cordele Inland Port® offers excellent transportation infrastructure, enabling shippers to seek our area for distribution, warehousing and manufacturing.   Users have access to I-75 which runs North and South, GA Hwy 300, GA Hwy 280, the gulf coast and the panhandle of Florida which makes the Cordele Inland Port® a viable option for businesses.    The facility is served by the Heart of Georgia Railroad, which interchanges with CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railway.

Crisp County qualifies as a Tier 1 County for the Georgia Job Tax Credit and depending on the number of jobs created, companies are eligible for $4,000 in state tax credits for each new full-time job created, plus a $3,000 Federal credit for each job created as a result of the area being a designated federal empowerment zone.  Foreign Trade Zone status is being sought in conjunction with the Brunswick Foreign Trade Zone.
